MODERN DISPOSAL SERVICES is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Model City, NY to safely operate landfill equipment and push/compact waste efficiently. The role requires vigilance in maintenance, safety, and precision to minimize downtime and protect workers.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-operation inspections, monitoring waste for unacceptable material, completing reports, and adhering to company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience.
• At least one year working at OSHA-regulated sites.
• Strong customer service skills to meet expectations.
• Professional, courteous, and cooperative with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to adhere to work schedules and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Safely operate equipment such as compactor, excavator, bulldozer, loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material.
• Keep equipment clean and ready to minimize downtime.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
