Job summary

Republic Services is hiring an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, loading and spreading waste, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Maintains professional, courteous conduct toward customers and co‑workers.
• Follows company safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front‑end loader and others).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Monitor equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor maintenance; report major issues.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Maintain a clean and serviced shop at shift end; follow safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
