Job summary

Board of Certified Safety Professionals seeks a Gas Operations Technician I to operate and maintain landfill gas collection and control systems. Responsibilities include data collection, preventative maintenance, and on-site repairs, with on-call support for malfunction events.

Training and regulatory compliance are core parts of the role. Applicants should be prepared for field work in varied conditions and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• No experience required, but valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Hands-on, field-based environment experience is a plus.
• Basic understanding of environmental regulations related to GCCS operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain GCCS to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize performance.
• Calibrate, operate and maintain data collection devices for LFG collection.
• Collect and manage data entry from wellfield extraction and monitoring locations.
• Implement the GCCS preventative maintenance plan.
• Operate and maintain liquid management system pumps and troubleshoot liquid levels.
• Perform valve/vacuum adjustments, data collection and interpretation.
• Use PVC/HDPE piping materials for maintenance activities.
• Complete WM Landfill Gas Technician I Training.
• Develop understanding of environmental regulations related to GCCS operations.
• Follow health and safety requirements and procedures.
• Be available for on-call response to GCCS malfunctions.
