Job summary

WM is seeking a Gas Operations Technician I to operate and maintain landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS). This role involves calibrating data devices, collecting field data, and implementing preventative maintenance to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will also work with PVC/HDPE piping, participate in on‑call responses, and complete the WM GCCS Technician I training. The position requires a driver’s license and the ability to perform in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
• Preferred: experience in environmental fieldwork, gas systems, PVC/HDPE piping, data logging, and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain GCCS to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Calibrate and maintain data collection devices to optimize LFG collection.
• Collect and manage data from wellfield extraction and monitoring locations.
• Implement the GCCS preventative maintenance plan.
• Operate and maintain liquids management systems and pumps.
• Adjust valves and interpret data from the wellfield.
• Work with PVC or HDPE piping materials and perform maintenance.
• Complete WM Landfill Gas Technician I Training.
• Develop understanding of environmental regulations related to GCCS.
• Follow health and safety requirements and be on-call for GCCS malfunctions.
