Job summary

The Prince George’s County Department of The Environment is seeking a Landfill Equipment Operator II (Equipment Operator 2A) in the Sustainable Waste Management Division to operate landfill and support facilities with a high level of safety and efficiency.

The incumbent will operate light to heavy equipment, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards. This is an essential position with required CDL and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• One year as an Equipment Operator I or equivalent coursework.
• Two years' experience operating light to heavy power equipment.
• Valid CDL Class A/B or equivalent with endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Operate landfill equipment including dozers, excavators and dump trucks.
• Maintain safety and efficiency in all landfill operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections.
• Comply with safety regulations and MOSHA/OSHA standards.
