Job summary

The Prince George’s County Department of The Environment is seeking a Landfill Equipment Operator II to operate light- to heavy-duty landfill equipment and support waste management operations in Upper Marlboro, MD. Qualifications

• One year as an Equipment Operator I or completion of a standard grade school course.
• Two (2) years of experience operating light to heavy power equipment.
• A valid Class A, Class B, or equivalent commercial driver's license (CDL) with mandatory endorsements is required upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operates light to heavy duty construction/landfill equipment and/or bulk collection vehicles.
• Maintains all weather roads, repairs leachate seeps, stormwater channels, sedimentation ponds, loads equipment/vehicles.
• Reports unsafe and/or mechanical condition(s) to crew supervisor.
• Performs routine maintenance and ensures PPE usage on site.
