Job summary

Montgomery County, Tennessee is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to manage heavy waste-handling equipment at the Clarksville landfill. You will safely operate machines such as motor graders, dozers and track loaders, perform earthwork and road prep, and maintain daily equipment safety checks.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Driver’s license and CDL, and 4 years of heavy equipment experience or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s license and a valid CDL.
• Pre-employment background check and drug testing required.
• Four years of heavy equipment operation experience or equivalent.
• Experience operating heavy solid waste equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate motor grader, dozers, trash compactor, and other heavy equipment.
• Perform earthwork, grading, trenching and road preparation.
• Inspect equipment daily for safety and maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and perform general maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to county safety regulations and building codes.
