Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations, ensuring efficient transfer, spreading, loading and compacting of waste or soil.

The role requires performing inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and documentation while adhering to safety policies and company standards. Two years’ prior heavy equipment experience and one year OSHA-site exposure are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections as per policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer and loader.
• Monitor waste streams for unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance; report major issues to maintenance.
• Complete equipment condition reports and other required documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe shop area at shift end and follow safety policies.
