Job summary

Johnson Service Group is actively seeking a Land Mobile Radio Specialist for a DoD project in Warren, MI. This contract-to-hire or direct-hire role offers competitive pay on a high-profile government project.

Responsibilities include supporting Motorola ASTRO 25, programming and scheduling talk groups, processing parts orders, running reports, and performing LMR programming with regular software maintenance. A Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

At least 3+ years of experience in the field.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Position requires a Secret security clearance. Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

Support Motorola ASTRO 25 SmartZone Release 7.14 trunked system.
Program and run emergency talk group reassignment and mutual aid talk groups when required.
Process parts orders.
Run parts inventory reports.
Run stock subscriber reports.
Schedule subscriber technical issues (batteries, antenna, remote mic and malfunction issues).
Schedule subscriber vehicle installation.
Provide touch labor.
Provide LMR programming and perform regular software maintenance, including patching and upgrades.
Update software to ensure compatibility, security, and optimal performance, and apply patches for known issues.
Provide Tier II and Tier III support.
