Job summary

Johnson Service Group is actively seeking a Land Mobile Radio Specialist for a DoD project in Warren, MI. This contract-to-hire or direct-hire role offers competitive pay on a high-profile government project.

Responsibilities include supporting Motorola ASTRO 25, programming and scheduling talk groups, processing parts orders, running reports, and performing LMR programming with regular software maintenance. A Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of experience in the field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
• Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Position requires a Secret security clearance. Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support Motorola ASTRO 25 SmartZone Release 7.14 trunked system.
• Program and run emergency talk group reassignment and mutual aid talk groups when required.
• Process parts orders.
• Run parts inventory reports.
• Run stock subscriber reports.
• Schedule subscriber technical issues (batteries, antenna, remote mic and malfunction issues).
• Schedule subscriber vehicle installation.
• Provide touch labor.
• Provide LMR programming and perform regular software maintenance, including patching and upgrades.
• Update software to ensure compatibility, security, and optimal performance, and apply patches for known issues.
• Provide Tier II and Tier III support.
