Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Land Maintenance Technician in California to operate tractors, riding and push mowers, weed whackers, and related landscaping equipment while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. You will perform land maintenance tasks, wash solar panels, and support cross-functional teams across sites.

The role emphasizes hands-on skills, accurate documentation, and the ability to follow safety protocols. Occasional travel within California and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, email, expense reporting, and work order systems.
Understand and follow workplace safety standards.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
Ability to read, write and understand English.
Excellent hands-on abilities with strong technical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional organization.
Applicator license credential preferred.
Driver’s License preferred and/or travel to site.

Responsibilities

Keep safety and environment as priority and use PPE when required.
Wash solar panels using panel washing equipment.
Perform land maintenance including weeds, mowing, raking, sweeping, and cleaning.
Operate landscaping equipment such as tractors, riding mowers, push mowers, weed whackers, and related gear.
Identify process improvements and communicate with Land Maintenance Supervisor.
Apply over-the-counter chemicals and fertilizer as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Keep safety and environment as the number one priority and utilize PPE when required
Wash solar panels using panel washing equipment
Perform land maintenance related to vegetation, including pulling weeds, mowing, raking, sweeping, and cleaning
Operate landscaping equipment including tractors, riding mowers, push mowers, weed whackers, and other required land maintenance equipment
Identify process improvements and communicate them to the Land Maintenance Supervisor
Apply over-the-counter chemicals such as Round Up and fertilizer as directed
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite, email, expense reporting, and work order management systems
Understanding of general workplace safety and ability to follow safety standards
Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Excellent hands-on abilities with strong technical skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and geographically diverse organization
Applicator license credential preferred
Driver’s License preferred and/or ability to travel to site
Ability to work outdoors in windy, dusty, and high-heat conditions
Ability to stand, sit, walk, kneel, twist, climb stairs and ladders, and enter plant equipment
Ability to use personal protective safety equipment
Ability to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals
Ability to lift as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
Willingness to work overtime and non-standard working hours as required
Ability to travel occasionally in California
