Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. is seeking a Land Analyst in St. Louis, MO to support US Land Records, acquisitions, and sales.

You will map, draft, and analyze data using ArcGIS and AutoCAD, interpret legal documents, and generate reports for a unified land management system. This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and cross-department collaboration. The position offers a full-time, hybrid work arrangement with standard hours, and requires an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) with 3 years’

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in surveying, engineering technology, computer science or related field required; Bachelors preferred in Surveying, engineering technology, computer science or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD / Carlson SurvCAD Software and .dwg files.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS and .shp files for mapping software and geo databases.
• Proficiency with GoogleEarth and KMZ files.
• Ability to interpret and convert data into AutoCAD from various formats.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• 3 years’ experience in mapping, surveying, or related computer applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Map, draft, and plot related exercises.
• Read and interpret legal documents (contracts, deeds, property descriptions).
• Learn/operate internal Land Management System to generate reports and maps.
• Use ArcGIS to manage property boundaries and survey files.
• Perform GIS database maintenance and analysis with ArcGIS.
• Create and digitize GIS data layers; work with AutoCAD tools.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of mapping data.
• Assist with updating maps and files reflecting operations status.
• Enter and interpret data in Excel; provide system training to end-users.
