LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager (Land Development) in Charlotte, NC.

This role oversees diverse land development projects across residential, commercial, and industrial markets, guiding design, permitting, and construction support with a focus on quality and timely delivery. The ideal candidate holds a PE license, has 8+ years of progressive design/management experience, and excels in communication, leadership, and collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Highly organized with good time management skills.
• Sufficient familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects from inception to completion including due diligence, planning, entitlements, civil engineering design, regulatory permitting and approvals.
• Manage budgeting, scheduling, outside consultants, tracking and billing.
• Prepare and oversee civil design for site geometry, grading, drainage, roadways, water distribution and utilities.
• Develop design drawings, technical specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Provide technical support through all project stages from RFP through final design and construction.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for selected projects and lead client meetings.
• Provide leadership and guidance for project engineers and technicians.
