Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Land Development to help craft the initial design approach for major project phases and oversee the engineering work on projects of limited scope.

You will coordinate with designers and clients, develop site plans, manage drainage and paving elements, and apply AutoCAD knowledge to produce workable drawings. This role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 5+ years of experience, and PE status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work on projects with conventional and complex features.
• Develop working drawings for civil site plans (layout, grading, drainage, paving).
• Assist in planning and design of facility layout and site design projects.
• Possess drainage design experience; familiarity with Cascade 2001/ICPR Version 4 preferred.
• Supervise less experienced engineers or tech staff on assignments as needed.
• Evaluate information and determine additional data needed from clients.
