Job summary

Kier + Wright in Austin, TX is seeking a Project Engineer (Land Development) to support project teams with civil design and technical drawings. You will prepare plans, coordinate with technicians, and assist in all technical aspects of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 0-5 years of land development experience.
• EIT or exam scheduled preferred.
• Proficient with computers, MS Office, Adobe, Internet apps.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carries out tasks assigned by Project Lead and engineering team.
• Develops working drawings for civil design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, drainage, utility, stormwater) from sketches.
• Uses engineering judgment and seeks assistance when needed.
• Manages personal time to meet obligations of multiple projects including budget, quality and schedule.
• Designs on-site and off-site improvements for commercial, industrial or high-density residential projects ready for construction.
• Designs grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater treatment with minimal input from engineer of record.
• Performs civil engineering calculations, SWPPP’s and other reports.
• Interacts with peers, clients, and sub-consultants.
