Job summary

Kier & Wright is seeking a Project Engineer (Land Development) in Austin, TX. You'll support project teams, prepare technical plans, and collaborate with technicians to deliver civil designs on commercial, industrial, and high-density residential projects.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, 0–5 years of land development experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam. EIT is preferred, with opportunities to grow and take on independent tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (EIT preferred).
• 0–5 years of land development experience; new grads welcome.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist project leads and engineering team on assigned tasks.
• Develop working drawings for civil designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D from sketches.
• Apply engineering judgment and seek guidance when needed.
• Coordinate with technicians, private consultants, and public agencies.
• Prepare design calculations, SWPPP and other reports.
• Interact effectively with peers, clients, and sub-consultants.
