Job summary

HeyTutor Inc. in Lancaster, CA is seeking English and Math tutors to support Elementary and Middle School students in-person. Candidates must have an associate degree or be enrolled in college. This role offers consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in the local community.

Responsibilities include tutoring groups up to 15 students, delivering curriculum, tracking attendance, and assisting with assessments. A background check is required; Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher, or currently enrolled in college.
• Experience tutoring children or students preferred.
• Comfortable teaching math and ELA to grades K-8.
• Ability to manage large groups up to 15 students independently.
• Background check required (FBI-DOJ).

• Tutor large groups of students up to 15 without direct teacher supervision.
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials.
• Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment.
• Track attendance and student progress using HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Assist with student assessments when requested.
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus.
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Lancaster to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to Elementary and Middle School students. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiring English & Math Tutors to support students in grades k-8th. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.

Pay & Benefits

• $20–$26 per hour, based on education and experience

Schedule

• Monday–Friday availability required
  
• Must be available between 12:00pm-5:30pm

Requirements

• Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)
  
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
  
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary and Middle School Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
  
• Ability to manage large groups of students independently
  
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
  
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor)
• Spanish Bilingual is preferred not required
