Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems in Boston seeks a full-time IT professional to provide LAN/WAN administration, desktop and server software support, and network troubleshooting for HUD Baseline environments.

You will install and upgrade workstation and file server software, diagnose connectivity issues, back up data, and support webcast/video conferences, while performing field visits and documenting standard IT processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing LAN/WAN environments in Windows-based networks.
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, network troubleshooting, and basic cabling.
  • Experience with desktop OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform software/hardware installations and remote support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide LAN/WAN IT support and administration.
  • Install workstation and file server software/hardware locally and remotely.
  • Diagnose and resolve LAN configuration problems and packet loss issues.
  • Perform data backup and restoration tasks.
  • Support video conferences and webcast setups.
  • Document standard IT processes and procedures.

Job description

We have an immediate requirement for 1 full time position. We arerequired to provide our client , Information Technology (IT) labor and support in the following offices for Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) Administration server and desktop software services:

  • Provide support for HUD Baseline desktop and Microsoft Office Suites;
  • Perform network printer/Multi-Function Device installs, upgrades & problem diagnosis;
  • Perform LAN Administration for Windows 200x servers;
  • Install workstation and file server software and hardware- locally and via remote;
  • Diagnose and resolve LAN configuration problems;
  • Evaluate and diagnose cabling, software and hardware problems;
  • Install and support of telecommunications hardware;
  • Basic WAN/LAN troubleshooting skills/tools – TCP/IP, Trace-route, NBSTAT, PING, or other duties as assigned
  • Email User support
  • Data backup and restoration
  • Provide technical support for webcast/video teleconferences
  • Security patches and software upgrade surge support
  • Support technology upgrades – both hardware and software;
  • Perform field office visits
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Documentation of standard IT processes and procedures.
