Lake Compounce is seeking a Full-time Rides Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair amusement rides and related equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure safe operation of park attractions. The role requires physical stamina, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

The Rides Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment and facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing issues, and repairing system malfunctions as they occur.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Rides Maintenance Technicianis responsible forthe modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment and facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing issues, and repairingsystem malfunctionsas they occur.

This position plays an integral role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of park rides and attractions, which, in turn, strengthens guest satisfaction.

Compensation for this role starts at $25/hour.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily pre-opening inspections of attractions and property.

• Ability to diagnose and correct mechanical issues.

• Respond to trouble calls with a sense of urgency.

• Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner.

• Perform repairs and service as directed by the manufacturers’requirements and specifications.

• Perform preventative maintenance such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC Cleaning, door/ lock repair, plumbing, cleaning, painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and various other issues that arise

• Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

• Utilize the proper PPE, depending on the nature of the job.

• Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner

• Complete repair work ordersin a timely manner.

• Keep the maintenance and park leaders fully informed of any corrective issues needed.

• All other duties assigned by leadership.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered

• 1-2 yearspreviouswork experience in maintenance or mechanicshighlydesired.

• Previouswork experience performing maintenance onroller coasters,amusement rides,orotherattractionsdesiredbut nostrequired

Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age tocomply withConnecticut Child Labor Laws

• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close

• Mustpossessa valid driver’s license anda good drivingrecord

• Mustpossessstrong mechanical aptitude and ability toutilizea variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner

• Mustpossessproficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and small combustion engine repair

• Ability to tear down and correctly reassemble machines,equipmentor devices

• Ability to read andcomprehendride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings

• Familiarity and experience with theme park ride mechanics a plus

• Familiarity with state and local codes as they relate to theme park attractions

• Mustprovide own tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, wrenches, standard socket set up to 1 inch, and metric socket set up to24mm

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat forlong periodsof time

• Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday

• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more

• Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts

• Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools

• Ability to see differences between colors and brightness

• Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away

Working Conditions:

• Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

• Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases

• Subject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE isrequiredin these situations

• Subject to working at significant heights greater than 100 feet
