Job summary

Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant RN to join our team on a variable shift. You will provide lactation management services to expectant and new parents, guided by hospital policies and standard care protocols.

A graduate of an accredited nursing program with Oklahoma RN licensure and current BLS is required; NRP and Lactation Consultant certification are expected within designated timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and eligible for RN licensure in Oklahoma.
• Current BLS certification required; NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Lactation Consultant certification or eligibility is expected.
• Experience in maternal-child health nursing preferred.
• Ability to provide lactation management services per hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide lactation management services to expectant and new parents.
• Coordinate care in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
• Support families with breastfeeding education and resources.

Responsible for providing lactation management services to expectant and new parents. These functions are performed in accordance with the hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must possess a current RN licensure in the state of Oklahoma
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• NRP must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• Currently certified as a Lactation Consultant
• Previous experience in maternal-child health nursing

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in lactation consulting
