Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Lactation Registered Nurse for third shift to join the Mother-Baby team. The role focuses on lactation consultation and hands-on breastfeeding support in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with an emphasis on evidence-based care and mentoring bedside staff.

Qualifications include an associate degree in nursing, Kentucky license, BCLS, NRP, and IBCLC within 1 year or CLC/CBS certification. Two years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing.
• Active Kentucky License.
• Two years of relevant work experience required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)/Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) required.
• International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• The lactation consultant provides consultation and hands-on assistance for mothers experiencing difficulties with breastfeeding initiation and sustainment in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Initiates a plan of care to provide consistent and evidence-based practice interventions.
• Provides staff training in lactation support and mentors nursing and allied health staff at the bedside.
