Baptist Health is seeking a Lactation Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts. The lactation consultant will support breastfeeding initiation and continuation in both inpatient and outpatient settings, develop care plans, and mentor staff with evidence-based lactation practices.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in nursing, an active Kentucky RN license, BCLS, NRP, CLC/CBS, and IBCLC within 1 year. Two years of relevant experience is expected.

Job Summary

The lactation consultant is a member of the Mother-Baby team who provides consultation and hands on assistance for mothers experiencing difficulties related to breast feeding initiation/sustainment in both the inpatient and outpatient setting (prenatally and beyond discharge from the hospital.) The lactation consultant is responsible for initiating a plan of care to provide consistent and evidence-based practice interventions. The lactation consultant provides staff training in lactation support and gives direction by mentoring to nursing and allied health staff at the bedside.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in nursing.
• Active Kentucky License.
• Two years of relevant work experience required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)/Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) required.
• International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) within 1 year.
