Job Summary

This position is responsible for inspection and basic maintenance of I-17 Flex Lanes between Phoenix and Flagstaff, Arizona. It involves performing general labor tasks at roadwork sites while ensuring the safety of workers and motorists by implementing proper traffic control measures. Responsibilities include maintaining highway assets such as paving, pothole patching, debris removal, crack sealing, guard rail repair, and traffic control.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in Public Infrastructure is preferred but not required
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License for the state of employment
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, able to work independently or as part of a team
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
• Effective oral and written communication in English
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of construction safety practices

Physical Requirements

The physical demands include driving trucks for extended periods (day and night), talking, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, crouching, climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.

Work Conditions

Exposure to weather conditions typical of Arizona, including hot summers and cold winters. The job involves driving and inspecting roadway elements.

Essential Duties

• Implement job specifications at each site
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and on time
• Promote safety culture, including safety meetings and PPE usage
• Attend work punctually, adhere to dress code, and follow weather and sick leave policies
• Assist with site prep, cleanup, and maintenance
• Maintain highway assets such as paving, pothole patching, debris removal, crack sealing, guard rail repair, and traffic control
• Operate tools and machinery or support operators
• Direct traffic safely using signals and signs
• Set up and remove traffic control devices
• Monitor site access and safety zones

Supplemental Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned

Total Rewards

Competitive pay starting at $20/hour, with benefits including healthcare, life insurance, EAP, paid holidays, bereavement, jury duty, employee programs, and more. Salary may vary based on experience and location.

Pay range: $20.00 per hour
