Job summary

Laborer, Grounds Maintenance – New Kent, VA

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government‑issued DoD Secret clearance are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of all areas of the site facilities.
• Operate and perform simple maintenance on lawn equipment as needed.
• Provide labor support to site projects and upgrades.
• Maintain the grounds of the ROTHR facilities to include cutting grass, trimming hedges, edging, pruning shrubs, planting grass, spreading fertilizer, and applying pesticides.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned and required.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Minimum six months combined practical Grounds Maintenance experience.
• Clean motor vehicle driving record to obtain authorization to drive company vehicles.
• If employed for more than 12 months, must be able to qualify as a Registered Technician for State Certified Pesticide Applicator.
• Must be able to comprehend and carry out the instructions outlined in written procedures with little supervision.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government‑issued DoD Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Registered State Pesticide Applicator.
• Previous or current security clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

This position is on a service contract with a non‑negotiable hourly rate of $17.86 per hour. In addition, a Health & Welfare benefit is paid at $6.00 per hour.
