Position Summary

Assist skilled craft workers in performing their duties at construction sites. Tasks require physical labor and the ability to perform a variety of duties.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assist craftsmen in setting up work as required.
2. Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and experienced crew members.
3. Prioritize safety in all duties.
4. Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
5. Read and understand safety signs, equipment instructions, and site policies.
6. Observe equipment functioning to identify hazards.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience preferred.
2. Knowledge and skills appropriate for the position.
3. Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
4. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Requirements:

1. Ability to move constantly around the construction site, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
2. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
3. Work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays.
4. Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical platforms, and maintain balance.
5. Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces.
6. Perform tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
7. Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
8. Possession of required tools and possibly a US driver’s license.
9. Pass drug, alcohol, medical, and background checks.
