Job summary

Miles McClellan Construction in Columbus, OH is seeking a General Construction Laborer to support commercial projects by assisting skilled trades, preparing sites, handling materials, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

You will assist carpenters, load and move materials, perform site prep, and help with demolition, cleanup, and routine tool maintenance, with safety policies guiding daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to jobsite priorities.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to meet physical job requirements (lifting 50-100 lbs, climbing ladders).

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters and other trades with daily construction activities.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with material placement, lifting, positioning, and installation activities.
• Perform demolition, cleanup, and general site preparation work.
• Inventory materials and restock supplies as needed.
• Erect and work from ladders and scaffolding as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow company safety policies and jobsite procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned to support project needs.
