Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is hiring a Laborer to support onsite construction activities in Atlanta, GA. The role involves assisting with grout work, debris cleanup, material staging, and maintaining safety and organization across the job site.

You will help operate and move equipment, dewatering and dust control, and support carpenters and crews while adhering to safety policies and emergency procedures. A union environment may apply, with required training and pre-employment testing.

Qualifications

• Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and subsequent random and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
• Complete union required training programs (if applicable).
• Be in good standing with union (if applicable).
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Work efficiently and effectively.
• Be self-motivated.
• Ability to make sound decisions.
• Must be able to remain calm during stressful situations and work through any challenges or issues which may arise.
• Must be able to know when to ask for help when a job task exceeds their skills or abilities.

Responsibilities

• Grout columns.
• General clean-up of site, building organization.
• Stage materials out ahead of carpenter crews.
• Track small tools used and store appropriately at the end of the workday.
• Inspect tools for safe working condition.
• Tag and turn in any damaged equipment.
• Dewatering.
• Dust control.
• Assist with cycling of trash containers.
• Set up and relocate temporary heating, cooling, humidification and dehumidification equipment.
• Assist with material and equipment staging for maximum efficiency.
• Engage in light demolition work.
• Assist in enforcing and be an example of Ryan safety policies and procedures.
• Familiarize one’s self with the emergency procedures for the project they are on.
• Assist with directing traffic and clearing the path in the event of an emergency.
• Abstain from, avoid, and report any form of harassment to their supervisor.
• Hazard Analysis for their portion of work.
