Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL is seeking a hands-on Equipment Test Technician to support setup, operation, and evaluation of tests for clients. You will adapt test rigs, read schematics, follow test plans, and collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate results.

The role requires secondary electrical education and 1–3 years of related experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills. On-site work with standard benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Higher Secondary Education in Electrical/Electronics is required.
• 1–3 years related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Setup and perform equipment and test setups for clients.
• Build or adapt setup and test equipment for tests.
• Examine samples, read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Follow defined test plans and datasheets.
• Evaluate test performance and sample operation.
• Record and explain test results and prepare data sheets/reports.
• May direct staff in test setups and assist customers during testing.
• Operate designated machines and laboratory equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance of test equipment and lab area.
• Read test standards and apply testing technology with supervision.
• Suggest improvements for equipment designs and testing processes.
