Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL seeks an Electronics Technician to set up and perform electrical testing in the Industrial Controls Laboratory. The role includes reading blueprints, building test setups, and communicating results to engineers; you will apply circuit knowledge and maintain equipment, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The position requires an Associate's degree or military equivalent, strong electrical knowledge, and comfort interacting with customers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or Military Equivalent (Electronics Technician)
• Strong electrical/electronics knowledge
• Experience working with the above products
• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers
• Proven ability to be innovative and creative
• Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite is a must
• Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing
• Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

Responsibilities

• Examine test samples and read schematics to set up and perform electrical testing.
• Analyze test performance and review data with supervisor.
• Build test setups and adjust equipment for tests.
• Apply knowledge of circuits to meet voltage, amperage, and power factor specs.
• Operate machines and perform routine maintenance of test equipment.
• Record data and prepare test reports; communicate results with engineers.
• Support continuous improvement in lab processes.
• Perform other duties as directed.
