Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Asbestos) to support laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No prior lab experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.

Shift is full-time, Mon–Fri, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with benefits including medical, dental, 401(k), PTO, and more. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, can distinguish colors for analysis, and can lift up to 25 lbs while standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Some laboratory experience in academic or commercial setting is a plus.
• Ability to distinguish colors to perform analysis.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self-motivation and adaptability.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis (air, bulk, dust, water, soil).
• Operate balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samples.
• Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by the manager.

Job Location: Huntington Beach, CA 92649, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $20.00 Hourly, EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Asbestos) in Huntington Beach, CA. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis Air Sample Prep, Bulk Sample Prep, Dust, Water, Soil
• Utilization of balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samples
• Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Available Shifts

Position is full time, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
