Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Cinnaminson, NJ is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Asbestos) to support analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No prior laboratory experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.

This is a full-time position with evening hours in a local facility. Responsibilities include preparing environmental samples (air, bulk, dust, water, soil), using balances and HEPA fume hoods, maintaining equipment, and assisting with preservation, disposal, and other tasks

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus.
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.
• Physical requirement to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for varying lengths of time.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude.
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis (Air Sample Prep, Bulk Sample Prep, Dust, Water, Soil).
• Use balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samples.
• Support sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the manager.

The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.

• Utilization of balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samples
• Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Position is full time, Monday to Friday 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Training to start will be Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
