Kelly Services is actively recruiting for a Technician for a long-term contract opportunity.

This position supports the growth of the acrylic resin business through application development, technical service, and testing on existing and new products. A key aspect involves preparing and evaluating polymeric materials. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with scientists and engineers in the group.

Key responsibilities:

1. Formulation: Prepare polymer formulations for processing via compounding, latex blending, etc.
2. Testing: Prepare test specimens through cutting, edge finishing, milling, etc. Follow procedures to perform mechanical tests like notched Izod, tensile, Dynatup impact, melt flow rate, etc. Measure optics, haze, color, gloss, and thermal properties.
3. Data: Document observations and results in electronic lab notebooks. Organize and analyze data, and communicate conclusions. Write summaries of results.
4. Equipment: Schedule and perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and recommend improvements. Train operators as needed.
5. Other duties: Prepare paperwork, package and ship samples, maintain materials inventory, participate in housekeeping and 5S programs.
