Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC seeks an IT Analyst for Laboratory Systems to design, develop, implement and operate laboratory information systems under the LASMS manager. You will work with vendors, system owners, and leaders to translate user needs into technical designs and procedures.

The role requires healthcare IT experience, Cerner/Blood Bank systems familiarity, and strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. On-call availability is required as part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 1 year experience in a Clinical Laboratory in a healthcare setting required; blood bank experience a plus.
• Organization/time management skills required.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills.
• Able to function independently and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze application and interface problems and workflow as well as user requirements to independently and collaboratively develop solutions.
• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of fundamentals of requirement specification, design, and testing of Interfaces/Data Integration technologies.
• Analyze and help define and document departmental requirements. Analyze a chain of events and apply technical knowledge following established procedures.
• Participate in design, contributing technical insights and ideas. Help formulate project scope and objectives. Troubleshoot applications problems independently.
• Typically responsible for completion of a phase or component of a project.
• Contribute to the development of project plans, identify key milestones, and raise critical project issues such as resource needs and contingencies.
• Instruct, direct and review the work of staff as needed.
• Work with users to define new application requirements and resolve project issues; explain new technologies and present deliverables.
• Build productive networks with internal and external customers and vendor community.
• Act as a subject matter expert for department functions in implementing and managing responsible systems.
• Create scripts that perform interface functions.
• Communicate and translate technical flow to workflow for multiple levels of the organization.
• Fulfill On-Call requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
