Job summary

Natera, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to support specimen handling, processing and data entry in the LIMS. The role emphasizes accuracy, PHI security and adherence to lab procedures within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include preparing samples for testing, receiving and routing specimens, maintaining inventory, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, while upholding professional conduct and departmental standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Science-related degree preferred.
• Less than 1 year industry related experience preferred.
• Employee must complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, policy compliance and security training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed staff in preparing specimens for testing.
• Receive and deliver specimens to the appropriate workflows/labs.
• Maintain organization of samples through physical and electronic storage and disposal.
• Enter patient data into the Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS).
• Prepare samples for shipment.
• Maintain organization of inventory, materials, and supplies in the lab.
• Assist in cleaning lab equipment and benches.
• Maintain updated knowledge of methods pertaining to the role.
• Complete training and deadlines on time.
• Escalate issues to lead/supervisor.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (TAG, 5S).
• Conduct yourself professionally and adhere to departmental expectations.
• Work with PHI securely (paper and electronic).
• Maintain current status on Natera training requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
