Job summary

Microbac Laboratories, Inc. in Arcata, CA seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support routine testing operations in a regulatory-conscious environment. This full-time role involves assisting with lab setup, sample handling, equipment cleaning, and documentation to meet quality guidelines and turnaround times.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma and be capable of following written and verbal instructions, with a careful, detail-oriented approach. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.

Responsibilities

• Execute a variety of non-technical but essential laboratory tasks to complete testing projects.
• Assist with the setup and maintenance of the laboratory, instrumentation and equipment (i.e., cleans and sterilizes glassware).
• Assist with the shipping, receiving, labeling, logging, tracking and storage of test samples.
• Ability to measure quantities of liquids and other substances for test preparation purposes.
• Assist with media and/or sample preparation.
• Follow all established procedures and protocols.
• Support the quality and safety programs.
• Administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, scanning, emailing, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
