The role involves performance improvement activities, staff development, and coordination of educational programs for students.

The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and teamwork within a community-focused hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Exhibits technical skills related to laboratory specimen collections.
• Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication with patients, staff and customers.
• Handles confidential information per hospital guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement activities and resolves customer service issues.
• Assists leadership with staffing, orientation, training, and competency assessment.
• Coordinates clinical experiences for students in affiliated programs.
• Leads or participates in committees and special projects.
• Maintains organized workspaces and oversees post-analytical activities.
• Ensures safety policies and PPE usage are followed and hazardous waste is handled properly.
• Leads laboratory performance improvement and promotes teamwork and patient satisfaction.
• Manages program needs, assesses services and staff.
• Performs pre-analytical lab activities including equipment maintenance and specimen processing.
• Provides information related to laboratory testing for all ages.
• Supports staff scheduling and workload management.
