Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine in Allentown, PA seeks a flexible Laboratory Support Assistant to assist multiple departments and clients. The role includes order entry, specimen collection, processing, transport, and inventory management under general supervision.

You will perform pre-analytical tasks, support laboratory information systems and QA checks, assist with staff training, and participate in on-call/mobile services as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions; ability to write simple correspondence.
• Basic math skills for calculations and data entry.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Lab Information System and general computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Accept and triage specimens; enter patient demographics and insurance data.
• Perform order entry, specimen collection, processing, and distribution.
• Assist in supply inventory and clerical duties; maintain records (paper and electronic).
• Provide on-call/mobile services as needed; travel to multiple sites.
• Support pre-analytical testing and QC checks; clear specs per SOPs.
