Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Support Specialist to assist the HLA laboratory with non-clinical operations. The role includes handling blood samples, managing inventories, coordinating with dialysis units and the transplant team, and training new staff.

Proficiency in maintaining databases and strong communication are essential. Based in Allentown, this onsite position operates Monday–Friday with a standard daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year clinical lab support experience or 1 year RCE insurance/registration.
• Strong reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced lab/office setting.

Responsibilities

• Receives and accessions patient blood samples.
• Organizes and reconciles purchasing accounts.
• Communicates with dialysis units, transplant team, and patients.
• Monitors and orders reagents and supplies.
• Maintains inventory database upon arrival of reagents and supplies.
• Updates and maintains patient database.
• Sends supplies to dialysis centers and patients.
• Aliquots and stores patient samples according to protocol.
• Provides training for new staff.
