Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine in Allentown, PA is seeking a Technical Assistant to support moderate complexity testing under direct supervision.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, calibrating equipment, assisting in QC, and maintaining SOPs, while coordinating with the Microbiology department. A high school diploma and some clinical experience are required; LIS familiarity is preferred. This is an onsite role with typical weekday hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years in a clinical setting with data handling experience preferred.
• AS degree or equivalent with health/medical assistance training preferred.
• Graduate of health/medical assistant or similar training program from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Performs CLIA classified moderately complex laboratory testing under direct supervision.
• Operates and troubleshoots instruments following SOPs and records data.
• Performs specimen handling, labeling, and preparation for analysis.
• Calibrates pipettes and thermometers according to SOPs; maintains quality checks.
• Participates in CSI and continuing education programs.
