Job summary

Myriad Genetics Inc. is seeking a laboratory technician to support accessioning and specimen handling under supervision. You will assign accession IDs, verify identifiers, label specimens, and communicate testing information to ensure accuracy and traceability.

You will also prepare and transport specimens, file paperwork, maintain compliance with lab policies, protect patient data, and contribute to a collaborative, productive team environment. A reliable, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Excellent organizational, communication, multitasking and teamwork skills.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multitask.
• Basic computer knowledge needed.

Responsibilities

• Assign specimens an accession ID and verify test order match.
• Ensure specimens are labeled appropriately and tracked.
• Communicate important information pertaining to testing.
• Look for and document problems with specimens.
• Scan, file, and electronically save paperwork received with specimens.
• Files and temporarily stores specimens until test release.
• Transports specimens to testing labs.
• Packages specimens for return, or external/internal lab send out.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
