Job summary

Square Care Laboratory is seeking a Specimen Processor - Accessioning to handle molecular specimens. Candidates should have familiarity with medical terminology and data entry, and will support laboratory staff with receipt, labeling, and triage of specimens.

The role includes organizing supplies, complying with safety procedures, and assisting leaders with additional duties as needed. A high school diploma and relevant lab experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; strong data entry skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• 2 years’ experience as a lab assistant, specimen processor, or relevant lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens according to testing requirements and proper ID.
• Identify and label specimens, distribute to testing areas.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed.
• Monitor lab supplies and maintain inventory levels.
• Communicate specimen non-conformities to staff and leadership.
• Clean and maintain work area and equipment.
• Follow health, safety and chemical hygiene procedures.
