Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking a Laboratory Department Manager to provide leadership for a clinical laboratory unit across locations. You will guide test procedures, regulatory compliance (CAP, CLIA), and collaboration with physicians and leadership to shape service goals.

You will oversee budgets, develop and implement departmental policies, and mentor staff while ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency in a dynamic healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field.
• Five years of laboratory experience with three years in leadership.
• ASCP certification or equivalent; CAP/CLIA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide managerial oversight for a department of the clinical laboratory and related locations.
• Oversee budgeting for salary, non-salary, and revenue in assigned areas.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA and other regulatory standards; work with Medical Director and leadership.
• Plan and execute department projects and service goals; manage staff and processes.
