Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital, a 595‑bed comprehensive facility in Homewood, AL, seeks a Director of Laboratory Services to oversee all lab operations, personnel, and budgets. The role ensures regulatory compliance and high‑quality patient care across clinical pathways.

The Director will drive process improvements, manage staffing and costs, and collaborate with pathology, medical staff, and supply chains to maintain service excellence. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical or Biological Science required.
• Successful completion of a Clinical Laboratory training program.
• Five years of Clinical Laboratory experience required, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all activities within the laboratory including department operations to meet service demands and align with financial/operational plans.
• Implement operational and technical policies for resource utilization, performance, and regulatory compliance at the site of responsibility.
• Direct cost‑effective utilization of personnel and supply inventory to meet financial targets and customer needs.
• Oversee scheduling and performance management programs to ensure quality service and staff development.
• Maintain compliance with Baptist Health policies, infection control, and safety standards.

Education
