Job summary

Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to oversee daily laboratory operations, coordinate workflow across sections, and ensure timely, accurate testing under the manager’s direction.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Alabama license if required, ASCP certification or eligibility, and a minimum of three years of hospital lab experience. Benefits start on day one and support ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Alabama license(s) if required for area of responsibility.
• ASCP certification or eligible if required for area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates workflow in the laboratory and coordinates with sections to ensure service delivery is met.
• Regularly communicates with manager on day to day operations.
• Understands the role and function of all laboratory areas and fulfills tech in charge as required.
• Performs testing at least 60% of the time and supervises bench activities as needed.
• Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.
• Monitors testing processes to ensure acceptable performance and takes corrective action when needed.
• Evaluates team competency, maintains records, proficiency testing, and maintenance logs.
• Leads orientation and training for team members and conducts performance evaluations.
