Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital seeks a Laboratory Section Supervisor to oversee daily operations of a laboratory section, supervise personnel, and ensure high quality test results. The role requires coordination with customers, adherence to quality standards, and development of staff.

You will monitor workflow, perform testing, evaluate test methods, and support the laboratory manager in budgeting and policy compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role within a busy hospital lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in related science field is required.
• Graduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technology or appropriate training facility is required.
• 5 years laboratory experience is required.
• Certified by ASCP or eligible is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily supervision of personnel and reporting of tests.
• Monitors workflow, ensures service guarantees and quality control.
• Collaborates with customers to meet or exceed their needs and monitors satisfaction.
• Orients and trains team members in the department.
• Completes performance evaluations and coaching plans.
• Schedules staff to meet workload while controlling costs.
• Performs testing and maintains proficiency with established policies.
• Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.
• Monitors quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Implements new testing methods and procedures under supervision.
• Supports manager in maintaining budget within constraints.
• Directs policy development and compliance for test performance and quality control.
• Communicates day-to-day operations with the Manager.
