Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Section Supervisor to lead daily operations in an assigned laboratory section. The role includes supervising personnel, monitoring test workflows, and ensuring quality control and timely reporting of results.

The supervisor will train staff, conduct evaluations, supervise testing to maintain proficiency, and enforce safety and regulatory standards. Prior ASCP certification or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related science field is required.
• Graduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technology or equivalent training facility is required.
• Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience is required.
• Certification by ASCP or eligible is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision of personnel and reporting of tests.
• Monitor workflow and ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
• Coordinate training and development of department staff and conduct performance evaluations.
• Oversee testing to maintain proficiency and ensure high-quality laboratory results.
• Maintain departmental policies, safety, and infection control practices.
• Manage budgeting, inventory, and supplies for the section.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related science field

Graduate from approved school of medical laboratory technology or equivalent training facility
