Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Scientist for Presbyterian Hospital Blood Bank. The role involves performing waived, moderate or high complexity tests and maintaining equipment under CLIA guidelines.

The position requires handling QA data, participating in inspections, and supporting training of new staff as needed. The Laboratory Scientist will work under supervision with flexibility in schedule including weekends and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical science from an accredited institution.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Education and training equivalent to an associate degree including required science coursework.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and interfaces.
• Record quality control data and monitor trends with corrective actions as needed.
• Participate in regulatory inspections and QA processes.
• Assist with training of new staff and students.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science

Associate’s degree in laboratory science (biology or chemistry)

Education and training equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science

Qualified as a technologist under CLIA regulations on or before February 28, 1992
