Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, supporting Corewell Health in Royal Oak, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform moderate/high complexity testing with independence. You will troubleshoot instruments, ensure quality control, manage specimens, and report results to physicians, while adhering to CLIA, HIPAA, and safety requirements.

A shift differential of 10% on some second shift and 15% on some third shift may apply.

Qualifications

• 1 year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting
• New or Recent MLS graduates encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all testing areas and troubleshoot instruments.
• Provide support in quality control, troubleshooting complex problems, staff training, and process improvement.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests per SOP with QC
• Adhere to policies for specimen handling and processing, and ensure records are properly kept.
• Maintain turnaround times including STAT or critical results.
• Enter test results into LIS for physician review.
• Maintain lab areas and equipment in a safe, sanitary condition.
• Complete training and competency checklists; assist with training others.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
