Job summary

The Belkind-Gerson laboratory within the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an entry- to intermediate-level Laboratory Science Professional to join its pediatric gastroenterology research team in Aurora. You will assist with animal handling, tissue culture, and imaging on mouse models, working closely with the PI and lab manager.

Responsibilities include immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, and basic microscopy, with some evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
• Combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may substitute for the degree.
• An advanced degree may substitute for experience if directly related to the work.
• One year of professional-level research experience.
• Experience with mice and aseptic techniques is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform animal handling and treatment protocols.
• Monitor experimental animals and document observations.
• Provide support for animal husbandry and harvesting.
• Learn tissue culture of intestinal neurospheres and Schwann cell cultures.
• Learn immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
• Perform basic microscopy and imaging; maintain records and reagents.
