Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO is seeking a part-time Research Services Professional – Entry Level. The role involves supporting reproductive science research with transgenic mice and molecular techniques under the supervision of a principal investigator.

The successful candidate will assist with DNA genotyping, mouse colony maintenance, data management, and procurement for lab services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
• Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field (preferred).
• Prior experience in a wet laboratory or experimental setting is desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain transgenic and knockout mouse lines.
• Perform DNA isolation and PCR genotyping.
• Weigh mice weekly and track data.
• Assist PI with projects on mouse reproductive axis development and physiology.
• Create and maintain mouse databases.
• Handle procurement for lab supplies and services.
• Train new employees, students and volunteers.
• Adhere to university policies on lab operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
